Make sure "band steering" is not enabled on your router.
Many routers support two different frequencies; 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Some routers include a feature called "band steering", where the router attempts to balance network traffic on these two frequencies. If there is too much traffic on the 2.4GHz frequency band, the router may try to communicate with the PupPod Feeder on the 5GHz band, but this will fail because the PupPod Feeder only supports 2.4GHz. Turning off "band steering" should prevent this issue.
An alternative option is to add an additional router to your network that's dedicated for 2.4GHz devices.
